There are many materials that excite us, but none so much as the final flush of garden roses in the fall. Ordering from American growers, these are specialty roses, European and pre-1950 American varieties. Their fragrance a pleasant reminder that scent is central to our human experience.

The Thursday before the wedding we took a trip to Arden Farm in East Aurora, New York. With the help of farmer Dan Roelofs, we collected lunaria, persimmons, cosmos and Queen Annes Lace (Daucus carota) to be incorporated in the table centerpieces designs.
